The Clay JV baseball team (15-3, 8-1 TRAC) came out of the gates swinging last night beating the visiting Erie Mason Eagles 10-0 in a 5 inning run ruled shortened game last night at home. Freshman Tyler Martikan (1.17 ERA) and Andrew Naugle (2.91 ERA) would combined to throw a 1 hitter which included 10 strikeouts. Erie Mason would not even have a runner reach third base on the night. At the plate, Clay would score 4 runs in each of the first 2 innings and never look back from there. Eagles with multiple hits included: Garrett Long (.400) was 2-2 with 2BB’s, 2B, RBI and a run. Donovan Coughlin (.375) 2-3 with 2 runs and a SB. Dakota Wamer (.471) 2-3 with a double, 2 runs and 3 RBI’s. Jeff Zsigrai (.347) 2-3 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s. Clay will continue their homestand with a league game against Fremont on Friday night starting at 5 p.m.
