Bats were blistered as Clay Eagles JV Gold defeated Whitmer High School 9-6 on Saturday.

In the first inning, Clay Eagles JV Gold got their offense started when Laney Mohon singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Clay Eagles JV Gold pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Natalie Durkovic tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and an error scored one run for Clay Eagles JV Gold.

Clay Eagles JV Gold scored three runs in the fifth inning. Hannah Sprague, Alyciana Sistos, and Mohon each had RBIs in the big inning.

Paige Baumgartner was the winning pitcher for Clay Eagles JV Gold. She went seven innings, allowing six runs on nine hits, striking out five and walking zero.

Clay Eagles JV Gold racked up 12 hits on the day. Calli Serres, Karlee Minkowski, and Mohon all collected multiple hits for Clay Eagles JV. Serres went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Clay Eagles JV Gold in hits. Minkowski led Clay Eagles JV Gold with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.
