The Eagles came out of the gate playing with heart and controlling the tempo early, leading to a 12-14 first quarter. Sharp shooting (5 threes) by the Titans broke the game open in the second quarter. VCU-bound guard Vincent Williams led all scorers with 18 points. Houston King was held to 5 points due to great team defense designed to slow St. John’s second option.
Reese Wamer led the Eagles with 13 points. Josh Meinke and Jacob Novak each chipped in 8 points and freshman Frank Waganfeald finished with 7 points on 7-9 shooting from the free throw line. The Eagles return to action next Friday vs. Central Catholic at home. They are looking to avenge a 6-point loss from earlier in the year.
