Hall of Fame Banquet

The Clay Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet is scheduled for 6:00pm on Saturday, September 30th at St. Michael’s Center on Navarre Ave.  This year’s inductees are A.J. Achter, Mollie Berry, Amanda Watson, and Wally Rodriguez.  Tickets for the event are $20.  See the attached flyer for more details. HOF Banquet – Flyer

Winckowski Finding Success at Cincinnati

Clay’s 1st ladies state champion, Grace Winckowski (class of ’15) earned Athlete of the Week honors for the Cincinnati Bearcat track team.  Grace ran a personal best 63.60 time in the 400 meter hurdles at the All-Ohio meet.  That performance was one of the top 10 fastest times in school history.  Way to go, Grace!

Garrett Gray NCAA Champ!

Congratulations to Tiffin University wrestler and Clay alum Garrett Gray for winning the NCAA Division II championship in the 285lbs. weight class.  Garrett also won the award for Most Pins in the Shortest Time.  Garrett closed out his college career as a 3x All-American.    Way to go, Garrett!!

Henneman, Contos earn All-Ohio Honors

Congratulations to senior Nick Henneman and freshman Kevin Contos for earning All-Ohio honors.  Nick finished 4th in the state championships in the 138lbs. weight class while Kevin finished 6th in the 152lbs. weight class. Juniors Nick Daly (285lbs.) and Garret Anderson (145lbs.) also competed for Clay High School in the state championships. Way to go Eagles!

Positive Coaching Alliance

The Oregon School District is partnering with Positive Coaching Alliance, an organization that is focused on developing “Better athletes, Better People”.  As part of this alliance, PCA will be conducting workshops with the administration, coaches, parents, and athletes.
