Game Recap

The Clay High J.V. Eagles (20-6, 9-5 TRAC) ended their season on a very high note Wednesday night beating Toledo Central Catholic who was tied with them for 3rd place in the league. The Eagles achieved their goal of winning 20 games avenging an earlier season loss to the Irish. Clay could only muster 6 hits on the night but having patient at bats and advanceing runners when the opportunity arose would be the doing in of Central on this night. Clay was led in the mound by Brendan Cannon (2.75) who picked up his 4th win of the season striking out 4 in the process. Coming into close the door on the Irish were Braden Kohne (2.69) and Trent Kuhlman (0.82) who combined wouldn’t give up an earned run in 3-1/3 innings of work. The Eagles were led at the plate by Grant Spears (.423) who went 3-4 with 3 runs and a rbi. It was an emotional night for the men ending their season on a high note, 20 wins is a great achievement and should not go unnoticed. Congratulations to all the players, parents, fans and coaches on this magical year. GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
